“The
Metcalf
House is
featured
in my
book
Unsung
Neighbors.
I’ve now
had the
unique
pleasure
to stay
twice at
this
wonderful
destination.
The
first
time I
was
researching
for my
manuscript.
It was
an
incredible,
retreat-like
get-a-way.
I
enjoyed
the
North
Room.
Elegance
is
unmatched
in this
sunny
room
that
includes
a queen
bed,
armoire
and a
Victorian
"Lady's"
chair
and
stool.
The
private
sink and
toilet
room
offers
the old,
pull-chain
toilet
water
reservoir
original
to the
house
(now
used as
a
planter!)
Free
high
speed
internet
access
included.
This
time I
took my
husband
along to
a book
event in
Storm
Lake. I
introduced
him to
all of
my
friends
there,
showed
him how
this
neat Bed
and
Breakfast
is
within
walking
distance
of the
Living
Heritage
Tree
Museum
in Storm
Lake,
each
tree has
a story
to tell.
This
unique
outdoor
classroom
is
dedicated
to
planting
the
documented
offspring
of trees
associated
with
famous
people
or
events
in
history.
Visit
the Joan
of Arc
Willow,
a tree
descended
from a
willow
at Joan
of Arc’s
birthplace,
or see
one of
the
descendants
of the
original
trees
planted
by
Johnny
Appleseed.
Free and
open to
the
public.
Beyond
the Tree
Museum
is the
gorgeous
lake!
In
Unsung
Neighbors
I
mentioned
that I
hoped I
could
stay in
the
Luxury
Suite
upon
return.
My wish
came
true!
Kevin
and I
enjoyed
the
Luxury
Suite as
much as
I
thought
we
would.
This new
luxurious Suite
is
perfect
for
Honeymoon
or
Anniversary
celebrations,
or most
any type
of
romantic
getaway.
The
suite
includes
its own
.living
room,
bed
chamber,
private
bathroom
with a
double
whirlpool
tub, as
well as
a small
eating
area
with air
conditioning
and
pellet
stove.
I’d
recommend
it for
you
too!
Pam was
the
perfect
hostess
with a
perfect
setting
for our
Storm
Lake
book
event.
She’s
now our
Storm
Lake,
Iowa
vendor
for
books
for
those
who
would
rather
not
purchase
online.
This
Incredible
Gem with
equally
incredible
food is
just a
hop,
skip and
a jump
away.
Take a
trip to
Storm
Lake,
Iowa
today to
meet Pam
at the
Metcalf
House!” |
