Incredible Gems - Christ the King Priory

My family and I are fortunate to visit a lot of places and to meet a lot of people. Incredible Gems are special people and/or places we have had the good fortune to meet or visit. Incredible Gems are those that really stand out.

“Have you ever taken the opportunity to visit the St. Benedict Center by Schuyler, NE?  I’ve driven by it numerous times while traveling Highway 15 mentally contemplating that I need to get there.  I finally did it!  I’ll definitely be back!  The peaceful setting was out of this world.  The weather was outstanding.  I’d recommend it to teens, couples, singles and seniors.  I had the pleasure of attending:

The Gentle Art of Blessing

The name “Benedict” means “Blessed One.”  We are Blessed Ones and are meant to be a blessing for others.  The art of blessing comes from the heart, transforming, elevating and restoring us and those around us.  I experienced this gentle art.

The small group retreat was led by Darla Weisbeck, M.S.W., a Benedictine Oblate, is the co-founder of the Center for Contemplative Spirituality, Crestwood Christian Church.  She has designed and led retreats as well as educational experiences for Transcend and the New Directions Center for the Lincoln YMCA.  She has over 26 years experience practicing a home-based contemplative life in the city.  She was absolutely fantastic.

This little known “Nebraska hidden secret” is truly an incredible Gem!
