“After
speaking
in North
Platte
and
attending
Railfest
there,

“My
husband
Kevin
and I
had the
awesome
opportunity
to stay
in the
Cambridge
Bed and
Breakfast.
The
historic
tour
that
accompanied
our stay
was most
interesting
to
history
buffs
such as
ourselves.
Gloria
was our
tour
guide.
She led
the
project
resulting
in the
publishing
of the
Cambridge
Centennial
book.
She’s
such a
wealth
of
information,
not only
on the
home
itself
but on
the
entire
area.
The
home is
in
pristine
condition.
It is a
select
Bed and
Breakfast
holding
a AAA
rating.
My mind
races at
night
thinking
of my
manuscripts
in
progress
and my
next
speaking
engagement.
This
home was
blessed
when a
family
lived in
it who
were
devout
Catholics.
One of
the
daughters
was a
dear
friend
of
Gloria’s.
I was
recently
at the
Monastery
in
Schuyler
for a
retreat.
I could
feel
that
same
peace
and
sense of
calmness
in this
establishment.
I
received
one of
the most
restful
nights
sleep
here
than I
have in
a very
long
time.
We had
the
pleasure
of
staying
in the
Norris
room.
The
serene
Norris
room
looks
out upon
an
ancient
evergreen,
believed
to be
the
oldest
tree in
Cambridge.
Unique
wood
details
highlight
the
vanity
area. We
enjoyed
the
intricate
iron bed
in black
and
gold,
antique
armoire,
and rose
theme.
The room
is named
for U.S.
Senator
George
W.
Norris,
whose
historic
home in
McCook
is open
for
tours.
May 2009
they
were
named
Heritage
Nebraska
Hidden
Treasure.
I’d call
them an
Incredible
Gem.
Definitely
a must
see in
Nebraska!” |
